Ten Mile Creek Regional Wastewater System Solids Dewatering Project, Trinity River Authority of Texas
The Ten Mile Creek Regional Wastewater System (TMCRWS) has consistently achieved high-quality effluent, and is recognized by state and federal regulatory agencies as one of the best wastewater treatment plants of its size in Texas. In order to continue in this tradition, the Trinity River Authority of Texas retained Plummer’s services to design a new solids dewatering facility in addition to other rehabilitation projects at the facility.
This project design rehabilitated the solids facility with improvements and process modifications for solids management. The improvements included rehabilitation of minor facilities such as piping and pumps, and major changes in sludge management processes such as changing from sludge lagoons to mechanical dewatering to accommodate the increased sludge flow and satisfy regulatory commitments. The major component of the project entailed a new solids dewatering facility housing gravity belt thickener and centrifuges. The TMCRWS is Plummer’s largest solids dewatering design project.
